Slaw recipe from Assembly

If you’re craving more of the noodle dish that was served at the June Assembly, here’s the recipe, courtesy of First Pres of Chicago Heights.

Asian Slaw

Yields 10 servings
Prep time:  15 minutes   Chill:  24 hours.

2 (3 oz) packages beef-flavored ramen noodle mix
2 (8.5 oz) packages slaw mix
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup sunflower kernels, roasted and salted
1 bunch green onions, chopped
½ cup sugar
¾ cup canola oil
⅓ cup white vinegar

Remove flavor packets from soup mix and set aside.  Crush noodles.  Place noodles in bottom of a large bowl. Top with slaw mix and sprinkle with almonds, sunflower kernels, and green onions.

Whisk together contents from flavor packets, sugar, oil, and vinegar; pour over slaw.  Cover and chill for 24 hours.  Toss before serving.
