Peace in Korea: Prayer and Petition

Hyeyoung Lee and Rev. Kurt Esslinger are members of Chicago Presbytery and currently serving as Mission Co-Workers and Young Adult Volunteer Site Coordinators in Daejeon, South Korea. They invite us to consider the peace of the Korean Peninsula with this prayer that can be used in worship and they have a petition to send to the Obama Administration.

This past July 27th was the 60th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement that ended open hostility in the Korean War. However, there was never a peace treaty signed, leaving the Korean peninsula in a constant state of war, the longest war that the United States has ever been involved in. It is time for our government to take responsibility for its unsuccessful policy of inaction and isolation toward North Korea. We need creative policy the actively cultivates a peaceful future for all the people of Korea. Please join us in prayer and in advocacy.
