New Advocate in Hunger Ministry

norman clearfield hunger action enablerThe Presbytery of Chicago announces and welcomes Norman Clearfield as our new Hunger Action Enabler effective June 1.

Hunger Action Enablers throughout the denomination work, via the Presbyterian Hunger Program, to offer encouragement and support, as well as connect congregations and groups within presbyteries to both initiate and sustain long-term commitment to hunger action. That commitment takes shape along a continuum of advocacy, as we seek to faithfully address both the immediate needs of neighbors who are hungry – and the root causes of poverty in our communities.

Norman brings extensive experience, both as a volunteer and staff person, to this call. He has previously worked as staff at Habitat for Humanity, as operations director for A Just Harvest (formerly Good News Community Kitchen), and currently serves as Meals Ministry Coordinator at Chicago Fourth. He has played key roles in both initiating and building capacity for start-up ministries/ outreach groups and is a longtime volunteer with West Suburban PADS. Norman can be contacted via email at:
