Lansing Celebrates 60 Years of Service

In February of 1955 Lansing Presbyterian started in a little school room. We are now celebrating 60 years of service to our community, country and the world. Through the years all of our missions and ministries we sponsor have reached out to spread the Word and show God’s love to others.

We started our year with a kickoff in March when we hosted a worship service that featured a Church History Trivia game & potluck after. In May we had our main celebration with dinner served after. Many members we had not seen in a while were able to attend and we had skits and video remembrances. There was joyful special music, including songs from the Calvary United Protestant Church Choir of Park Forest with whom Lansing periodically has joined in musical partnership.

To honor the occasion we commissioned an anniversary banner that was made by Russell Loquist and new t-shirts that have listed on the back many missions we have served. Father’s Day in June saw an outdoor worship service celebrated on our beautiful lawn.

LPC reflects upon our rich past and turns toward a challenging future. We will continue to celebrate our history, reach out to our community and beyond and share God’s love with all we meet.
