Scripture reminds us that for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Within ministries of both individuals, congregations, and presbyteries, there are seasons that must be honored. We write to share the request of Jan Edmiston, that we concur with her decision to step away from her ministry as Associate Executive Presbyter for Ministry, in preparation for the arrival of a new Executive Presbyter. Attached is Jan’s letter which details further her discernment born of her deep love for the Presbytery of Chicago.
