Bible Assistant or Associate Professor

McCormick Theological Seminary invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning July 1, 2019. We seek candidates with a research doctorate in Bible, with a specialty in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, who are able to teach Biblical Hebrew, are familiar with traditional as well as innovative biblical scholarship, and have the capacity to relate scholarship to faith communities. Candidates should demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching, should have a commitment to preparing people for leadership in ministry, should be open to interdisciplinary teaching, and should have facility and experience with hybrid and/or online technology.
 
Strong preference will be given to candidates who can engage a diverse community of students and/or scholars, who can teach in Spanish and who have an expertise in LatinX biblical interpretations. Applicants should submit a letter of interest that includes a statement on teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, two syllabi (actual or proposed), and a writing sample, along with the names of three references.
