The Presbytery of Chicago is dedicated to helping congregations and pastors set their sights on healthy pastor-parishioner relationships, establish safe boundaries, and find their way to trust, truth, honesty, and love as Christ’s church.
The Presbytery of Chicago requires all ministers, ministerial candidates and inquirers, Honorably Retired clergy, Certified Christian Educators, members of the Presbytery Coordinating Commission, moderators of any of the presbytery’s entities, and all Presbytery of Chicago employees and volunteers to attend a seminar on healthy boundaries.

2019 Training Opportunities

The Presbytery of Chicago offers one annual in-person Boundary Training. In 2019 it is at the September 17th Chicago Presbytery Assembly meeting. It is strongly suggested that all those governed* by the Chicago Presbytery Life Together Safe Boundaries Policy attend this 3 hour session, 12:30-3:30 p.m.  Led by Mark Sundby from LeaderWise, this training will satisfy the 2019 boundary training requirement.
There is one remaining opportunity to do on-line training in 2019. It is a six-week experience for those who truly cannot attend the in-person training. The on-line training requires the purchase of the book “The Integrity of the Body of Christ” from your favorite bookseller. You should read the book prior to beginning the on-line course.
