First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights is seeking a Associate Director of Music for Contemporary Worship for our 1600 member church in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. This part-time (10-15 hours/week) position includes leading the weekly contemporary worship services, developing and directing the worship team, and collaborating with the Pastor and Director of Music Ministries to design a weekly worship experience that draws the congregation into worship and enhances their worship experience.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished musician, strong organizational skills, and possess musical background and performance skills. Strong vocal ability mixed with guitar and/or keyboard talent is preferred, along with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in worship leadership. The candidate must be a strong spiritual leader and team builder who wishes to seek out the best in music volunteers.

Yay! 2011 Annual Statistical Reports

Once again, it’s time to prepare the annual reports required each year by the Office of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (OGA), and the Elder Memorial Report (formerly, the “Elder Necrology Report”) and Clerk of Session Contact sheet for the presbytery office.

You will soon be receiving a letter from us with your congregation’s password and directions.

The Annual Statistical Report must be filled out no later than midnight, Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Do not ask for an extension of the deadline. Receiving computers will shut down at midnight, February 22nd, and no more information will be received.

Be sure you complete this report. Your per capita assessment in 2013 will be based on the figures you submit this year. The OGA will not retroactively change your membership figures if you fail to report them within the OGA’s time limits.

2012 Middle School Winter Retreat

This retreat is open to all middle School youth (grades 6-8) and their friends in Chicago and Blackhawk Presbyteries. Your time will be spent having fun, enjoying music, making new friends and hearing inspiring messages on the topic of “Surrendering to God.” There’s lots of great free time options too, like basketball, outdoor games, and an indoor pool.
