Praise Team Leader

Job Description:
The individual we seek must demonstrate a working knowledge of contemporary Christian music and be driven to lead others into God’s presence through worship. S/he will plan, organize and lead Praise Team rehearsals and community (contemporary) worship services that uplift the congregation and proclaim glory and honor to God.
Our new Praise Team leader will be a skilled, gifted musician, preference will be given to individuals who play guitar. We seek an individual with high personal integrity and maturity in Christ that is able to effectively lead our congregation vocally and instrumentally in contemporary worship.

Coordinate music selection with Scriptural directions and themes;
Design weekly worship service elements in consultation with the pastor;
Coordinate with Music Director to schedule and lead weekly rehearsal times and use of volunteers;
Demonstrate ability to work with volunteer musicians to achieve excellence in musical presentation;
Resource band members as needed (lead and/or hymn sheets, chord charts);
Demonstrate solid understanding of music and sound technology
Identify, nurture and encourage worship leadership gifts in others and recruit new Praise Team members;
Provide worship music at various events throughout the year (Community ecumenical services, youth events, special services, etc.);

The Praise Team leader will report directly to the Pastor and will closely partner with Director of Music as well as volunteer leaders within worship programs.

Individuals invited to interview will be expected to prepare and lead a worship set on a scriptural theme and demonstrate the ability work with volunteer musicians (Praise Team).

Part-time: 8-10 hours weekly including preparation, weekly rehearsals and Sunday worship service, ordinarily 11:15 AM– 12:30 PM.
