Network Empowerment

On behalf of Presbytery Council, to help congregations, agencies, and governing bodies to participate in mission together to achieve the mission goals of the Presbytery.
Responsibilities:
- To mobilize, integrate and provide oversight direction to each of the three mission priority leadership teams.
- To continuously, review, update and manage the covenant process, the covenant proposal form, and its implementation by each Mission Priority Leadership Team of the Presbytery of Chicago’s mission strategy for 2006-2010.
- Hold regular meetings with representation from each Mission Priority Leadership Team to share reports, concerns and develop historical records of Mission Priority Leadership Team covenant activities. This historical record process will be forwarded to the Presbytery Assembly for review and interpretation annually.
- Empower, encourage and review with all Mission Priority Leadership Teams their objectives, goals, and record keeping of their covenants and review their budgets periodically during the fiscal year through communication with the Mission Priority Leadership Team leaders .
- Provide oversight direction and review of multi-team covenants, covenants and mission projects that include the mission goals and objectives of more than one Mission Priority Leadership Team.
- Take the initiative to develop mission partnerships among Presbytery of Chicago churches, agencies, and governing bodies when viable proposals are presented in non-covenant formats through communication with Mission Priority Leadership Team leaders and Presbytery consultants helping to create working covenants.
- Establish standards in accordance with the “Network Empowerment Work Group Policies and Procedures for Covenant Handling Process and Tracking of Mission Program Grants” developed in 2008 for mission teams concerning communication for their activities, for contracting consultants, and for financial management.
- Report regularly to the Presbytery Council.
Membership
Nine members, including the moderator distributed in equal classes as nearly as possible.
Term
Three-year renewable term with a maximum of two consecutive terms.
