Executive Presbyter

 
 
Craig Howard: Craig is a native of Chicago’s South Suburbs. He completed his undergraduate work at DePaul University, and earned the M.Div and D.Min degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary. Before coming to Chicago, Craig served in St. Louis as Presbytery Leader of Giddings-Lovejoy, and Ministry Relations Officer with the Presbyterian Foundation. Craig has also served as Presbytery Executive for the presbytery of Milwaukee.
 

Craig’s first career was in business as an insurance executive. After being ordained to specialized ministry, Craig served as Director of Recruitment and Admissions at McCormick Seminary and later as Chief Development Officer.

Craig has served several racial ethnic churches including Latinx, African American, Korean, and Euro American.
 
Craig’s spouse is the Rev. Marilyn Gamm, who is also a pastor in St. Louis. Craig has two adult daughters both living in Chicago.
 
 
 
 
                             Stated Clerk and Interim Business Manager
 
 
 
 

 

 
Ken Hockenberry: Ken served as Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky for 18 years and currently serves as Stated Clerk in the Presbytery of Chicago since September of 2018. He began service as Interim Business Manager with Chicago Presbytery in August of 2020. Ken also serves as an adjunct faculty member (PCUSA Polity) at McCormick Theological Seminary, having served as an adjunct faculty member (Preaching, Worship, and Practical Theology) and as Interim Director of Field Education at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
 
Ordained as a PCUSA Minister of Word and Sacrament in 1984, Ken has served as Pastor of Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, New York, Co-Pastor (along with his wife Judy) of Beulah Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Pastor of Carter-Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Skokie, Illinois. A Masters of Divinity graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (NJ), Ken also holds a Bachelor of Music (Voice) from Grove City College (PA).
 
Ken is married to the Judy Hockenberry (currently serving as Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights). Ken and Judy have three adult children – Kathryn, Jennifer, and Andrew. Ken seeks to serve decently and in order, and with hopeful enthusiasm and joy.
 
 
 
 
 

Barbara Ann Wilson: Associate Executive Presbyter She leads in increas-ing internal capacity with leader teams and congregations to strengthen vitality and mission im-pact, via building healthy collaboration and sustainable partnerships. 

Barbara is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC, International Coaching Federation (ICF), a trained practitioner of presencing (Theory U) and ToP Facilitation Methods. She is an adjunct professor, and master trainer of ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Interface and Trauma-Informed for Faith Communities curricula. She is a Qualified Administrator (QA) for the Intercultural Devel-opment Inventory (IDI) and Healthy Congregations Facilitator. 

She has 13+ years of investigative experience in the federal criminal justice and child welfare systems and 26+ years in pastoral ministry as an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episco-pal Church (AMEC). 

She holds B. A. and M.S degrees in Criminal Justice, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary. She endeavors to live with integrity and joy.
